🍭 Treacle Thursday's from Seller Candy (2/9/21 issue)🍬

For all of your Amazon Seller Central, Amazon FBA and seller support news, tips and updates subscribe to Treacle Thursdays by Seller Candy.

These are exciting times. Our very first issue of Treacle Thursday (which may well be a placeholder as it's a somewhat forced candy-shaped alliteration!).

As the name suggests, we'll be keeping you updated on all things Amazon, filling you in on what's happening here at Seller Candy and throwing some useful tips, tools and offers your way in to the bargain every Thursday that the author remembers to write it. Any feedback, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated (preferably good, these are trying times and my ego could do with a stroking).

So, without further rambling, let's get in to it!

Monetizing your Amazon skill set

Selling on Amazon seems like a business model in itself and of course it is. But it’s obvious that the skill set you learn by running your own business could potentially be used and indeed monetised to serve other people's businesses. Quite a lot of sellers have a wish to start monetizing in another way than just selling physical products. Maybe you’re one of them.

But what is that journey actually look like from the inside? And what are the main issues that you have to overcome to actually make this a reality?

Join our very own John Cavendish in this interview with Michael from the Amazing FBA podcast as he walks through his journey hoovering up skills and using them to create businesses which fill a gap in the market.

How to make sure you're not missing out on easy opportunities

For those of you who missed our recent webinar rewind session, one of the three key areas to getting your Amazon business operating in a silky-smooth fashion is to objectively analyse where you could be leaving money on the table and the most efficient way to slide it in to your wallet once you've done so.

You can do this yourself or leave it to someone else but if it's not something you've done before then you can watch and listen as John talks you through some of the steps.

A-Z Insurance Updates and Speculations

Following the changes made to when sellers actually require product liability insurance, Amazon have gone a step further and will allow buyers to claim for property damage and personal injury. They've handily created a network of vetted insurers who will offer this type of cover - Amazon Insurance Accelerator - which they say they don't claim any commissions for.

Amazon additionally state that any property damage or personal injury claims under $1,000 will be settled directly by Amazon themselves and will not seek reimbursement from the seller provided they abide by Amazon policies and have valid insurance. They also claim that 80% of such claims made fall under $1,000. These claims will be investigated by advanced fraud and abuse detection systems with external, independent insurance fraud experts on behalf of sellers to "save you from having to investigate these claims on your own".

This may lead a cynic to speculate that they're going to do whatever they can to pay out as little of that 80% as possible at our expense. So, have a good read through the new requirements and make sure your insurance is valid, has Amazon named as an additional insured, covers everything they now require and that you're in line with their policies or you could be stung with a big, unexpected bill (instead of the big, expected bill from the insurance company - better the devil you know!).

Multi-channel selling made simple

I know a lot of you are probably selling on multiple channels already, and that makes sense. Variety is, after all, the spice of life. If you are, then you know what a pain it is managing all of your products on all of the platforms you sell on. It's time consuming and, worse, boring.

That's where JoeLister can help. JoeLister is the easiest, fastest way to list and fulfil your Amazon inventory on eBay, and Shopify.  One click listing, automatic repricing and inventory updates and all the fulfilment handled by Amazon.

If you're looking to diversify then this is a great way to get started. No obligation either, they've got a 2 week free trial. You can try it out here. Give it a go if you haven't already!

And now it's time to wrap up the very first edition of Treacle Thursdays (placeholder). Thanks for sticking with me until the end. It's not going to make the Amazon Best Sellers list but I hope you've found it interest, amusing or at least somewhat useful.

Again, any feedback at all would be much appreciated. I do take requests if there's a featured section that would be helpful.

Have a great end to the week and may you be blessed with many sales and few complaints!
